Trees and shrubs of Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area

September 18, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Is it a red oak or a white oak, an eastern hemlock or a white pine, a shag bark hickory or a yellow birch ?  We promise you’ll have a better idea of which is which when the morning’s done.  We’ll meet at the N. Farms parking lot and follow the main trail to the boardwalk and beyond as  Randy Stone leads us on a guided walk to identify  some of our prominent FLCA trees and shrubs. Randy’s career was as   a state forester with  MA DCR watersheds at Quabbin Reservoir;  he  has led nature walks and workshops for over 40 years.

Limited to 10 attendees, prior registration required. Please email Registrar.BroadBrookCoalition@gmail.com to sign up on a first-come first-serve basis. Please call Dave Pritchard (413-268-3668) or Dick Wynne (413-584-7930) with any questions
