Town announces temporary closure of the Cooke Ave. parking lot at the entrance to Fitzgerald Lake CA

Access to the Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area from Cooke Avenue, including all parking and trail access, will be temporarily CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC starting on or about May 1, 2024. The parking lot is estimated to open again on or about May 15. For public safety, there will be NO PARKING ALONG COOKE AVE. OR PINES EDGE DR..during this period.

This closure will allow for the installation of a paved parking area dedicated to users of the conservation area, including 21 spaces, two of which are for handicap access.

The Cooke Avenue entrance is extremely popular, but please respect this temporary closure to allow the work to occur quickly and safely. The North Farms Road entrance to Fitzgerald Lake, as well as all other trails within the conservation area remain open. Northampton offers a wide variety of open space experiences to visit and explore.
